SUMMARY
Underground part a short tuberous rhizome, 2.6 - 3 cm long, 2.1 - 2.6 cm in diam., 1.6 - 2.2 cm high, producing a few fusiform offsets annually. Petiole 10 - 15 cm long, 2 mm in diam., basal third whitish, spotted and striped reddish brown, upper part uniformly pale green; lamina deeply trilobate; 10 - 15 cm long, 10 - 15 cm wide; median lobe oval, 9 - 13 cm long, 4 - 5 cm wide, acute, upper surface pale green. Inflorescence developing after leaf development, (nearly) sessile on the soil surface; peduncle 1 - 1.5 cm long, 3 - 4 mm in diam. white; Spathe lanceolate, separated by a strong constriction in a basal convolute part and an open upper part, 17 - 24 cm long, 2 - 2.5 cm wide just above the constriction; base elongate ovate, 2 - 2.5cm long, ca.2cm in diam. (closed) strongly convolute, outside white with reddish brown spots and stripes, pale greenish towards the constriction, inside white; limb strongly arching over after opening and coiling inwards, margins strongly undulate, surface outside corrugated, top acute, outside dark purple or dirty whitish greenish with numerous pale purple spots and more uniformly pale purple along the margins, at first glossy but soon dull, inside uniformly dark or mid maroon, paling after opening. Spadix longer than spathe, 20 - 26 cm long; female zone conical, 4 mm long, 4 mm in diam. at the bas, 3 mm at the top, pistils crowded; sterile zone 2.8 cm long, 1 mm in diam., lower 2 - 3 mm with staminodes; male zone cylindric, 7 mm long, 2 - 3 mm in diam., stamens crowded; appendix 16 - 23 cm long,
