Anthurium nicolasianum Engl.
SUMMARY
Stems, small, climbing, internodes 4 - 5 cm long, 1 cm thick, cataphylls 5 - 6 cm long, dilacerating and covering the internodes. LEAVES: Petiole 30 cm long, geniculum short. Blade coriaceous, bright shining green on both sides, elongate-cordate, 35 cm long, lower third 20 cm wide, posterior lobes semi-ovate, very weakly introrse, separated by a parabolic sinus, 6 - 7 times shorter than anterior lobe, 5 - 6 cm long, 4 - 5 cm wide, primary lateral veins of the anterior lobe 2.5 - 3 cm apart, 6 - 7 on each side, joined to one another and the basal vein into a collective vein 4 - 5 mm distant from the long-distant, interlobe vein patent, turning upwards and running into the margin, veins of the posterior lobes 3, strongly curved, joined at the base into short basal ribs which are denuded in the sinus. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle, spathe and spadix missing.
