Anthurium mendoncae Engl.
SUMMARY
Stems small, internodes ca. 1 cm long. Cataphylls lacerated, covering the internodes, 2-3 cm long. LEAVES: Petiole 6-10 cm long, slender, weakly canaliculated. Blade lanceolate, weakly cordate ["costata"] at the base, gradually narrowed from the lowermost sixth upwards, long and very acutely acuminate, 6-9 cm long, 2-3.5 cm wide basally, primary lateral veins few, joined into a collective vein distant from the margin, lowermost lateral veins running out into a marginal vein. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncles 15 cm long. Spathe 1.5 cm long, 3-4 mm wide, linear-lanceolate, acuminate. Spadix with a stipe barely 1 mm long, 1.5 cm long, 2.5 mm thick, cylindric, dark purple.
