Anthurium itanhaense Engl.
SUMMARY
Stems small ('caudiculi'), ca. 1 cm thick, internodes 1-1.5 cm long. Cataphylls covering the internodes, triangular, fibrous. LEAVES: Petiole more than half the length of the blade, thickened at the base, shortly sheathed, sulcate adaxially, geniculum ca. 1 cm long, 14-15 cm long, 3 mm thick. Blade oblong-lanceolate, 25-27 cm long, 7-8 cm wide in the middle, subequally narrowed from the middle to both ends, long-cuneate towards the base, apex shortly acuminate, acute, primary lateral veins patent on both sides joined into a collective vein lying 1/5 of the width (6-7 mm) from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle slender, longer than petiole, ca. 20 cm long. Spathe reflexed, nearly linear, shortly acuminate, 3 cm long, 5 mm wide. Spadix with 3 mm long stipe, ca. 4 cm long, 5 mm thick, purple.
