SUMMARY
Helophytic herb, 0.4 - 0.6 m tall, laticiferous, producing white latex when cut. Stem tuberous, rounded, 1.5 - 2 x 1.5 - 3 cm, producing occasional round tubercles on its surface, parenchyma yellow. Leaves 1 - 2 per plant, petioles 30 - 52 x 0.5 - 0.7 cm, green, purple-mottled at base, glabrous, finely striate, sheath 15 - 31 cm long; leaf blade entire in juvenile plants, hastate in adult plants, 11 - 18 x 12 - 19 cm, semi-glossy green adaxially, lighter and shiny adaxially, anterior division lanceolate to oblanceolate, 11 - 19 x 4 - 6 cm, 2.3 - 3.6 times longer than wide, apex cuspidate, base acute to attenuate, primary lateral veins 6 - 8 per side, diverging in a 20 - 50° angle, posterior division with leaflets as long as 45 - 60% of the main leaflet, 7.5 - 11.5 x 2.5 - 3 cm, 3.2 - 4,5 times longer than broad, acute acroscopically, subcordate basioscopically, basal rib denuded for 0.3 - 0.6 cm. Inflorescences solitary, peduncle slender, green, mottled at base 25 - 30 x 1.3 - 1.6 cm, glabrous; spathe only partially known, tube ovoid 4 - 4.5 x 2 - 2.6 cm long, green outside, white with the base purplish inside, lamina unknown; spadix partially unknown,sessile, fertile male portion unknown, sterile male portion 1.5 - 1.2 x 0.6 - 0.7cm, female portion 1.5 - 2 x 0.7 - 1 cm, adnate to the spathe up to the basal 2/3; synandria unknown, staminodes known only withered, gynoecium barrel-shaped, prismatic 1.5 x 1 mm, style non-coherent, stigma yellow, hemispherical, ovary 2 - 3-loculed. Pollen grain shed in tetrads. Infructescence unknown.
